Get Comfortable in That Body! It's the only one you're getting.

When God said He made you fearfully and wonderfully...He meant it.
Many times I have to consciously remind myself not to get a tad bit exasperated when I converse with some young men and ladies. Too many times, too often, there's one person or the other whining about how this part of her sucks or how he totally needs to get ‘ripped’ or he’ll never be a ‘real man’ (whatever that means), or how she wishes she had someone's body or how she hates her facial features or how a pimple has deformed her hopelessly or how his not-so-deep voice is a bane to his existence or how his lack of height is the cause of all his problems or his un-chiselled face is the reason he is still single or how she's too skinny and wants to be fat or how she's too fat and just has to be skinny; and on and on it goes.
After I sigh and slap a palm to my face, a number of thoughts race through my mind when I hear such things...

#1 - God does not make mistakes.

Psalm 139:14 -
"I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well."
  • The wonderfulness of the human mechanism is so great that, if realized, it produces a sensation of fear. It has been said that, if we could see one-half of what is going on within us, we should not dare to move.  -Pulpit Commentary
  • The formation of man is not of himself, nor of his parents, but of God, and is very wonderful in all its parts. It has been matter of astonishment to many...who have, with any carefulness, examined the structure and texture of the human body, the exact symmetry and just proportion of all its parts, their position and usefulness; how every bone, muscle, artery, nerve and fibre, are nicely framed and placed to answer their designed end;...and have filled the most diligent inquirers into nature with amazement and wonder, being a full proof of the wisdom and knowledge of God. See Psalm 94:9; no man has cause to reproach his parents, nor blame the Former of all things for making him thus, but on the contrary should praise the Lord, as David did, who has given him life and breath, and all things; or own and confess, as the word may be rendered, that he is in various surprising instances, a wonder of nature. -Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible(Shortened slightly by me)

I can’t imagine what must be going through His mind when He has to watch that which He has called ‘good’, make themselves feel insecure over silly fears and dissatisfaction birthed by idleness.

P.s: #2 & #3 in next post.
